The request for Title Companies to provide a copy of the closing statements of both parties to the other for the agents files.

In the opinion of the Legal Counsel for the Montana Association James A. Bowditch the information contained in a closing statement is confidential.  He can see no reason why a buyer or buyer's agent would need to see a seller's closing statement or vice versa.  Therefore, he believes a title company is within their right to refuse to send a listing agent a copy of the buyer's closing statement without the buyer's consent or a copy of the sellers closing statement to the buyer's agent with out the sellers consent.
